Great product. Had 4 years still works great. Using it on a second dog now.
Bought this unit 4 years ago for our dog. We like to use the tone button to reinforce good behavior at a distance. We have a large property and the range of this unit works well. Great customer service too. I needed a part for it, that I lost, and they took care of me. Nice too see after 4 years parts are still available otherwise, like many things these days, your only choice would be to buy another whole unit.

Should last longer
The system worked well for a little over a year. Then the handheld transmitter began to malfunction. The button on the side began not to consistently signal the collar - probably a breakdown in the circuitry. I pressed the button on the side and the red led light might or might not come on. And no way for the ordinary consumer to repair it.

Purchased 11/2012, died 3/2014.

Bought a replacement transmitter ($40 through lifetime warranty)and since I didn't have the original manual and no instructions were sent, I had to call Sportdog to get it activated. A little too much hassle but I still like the product.
